Train to Finse departs 6.25 a.m.

10.55 a.m. Arrive Finse

After a quick briefing, we finally began our hike! We follow the walking trail down to Geiterygghytta. The mountainous terrain takes us uphill a little while before descending gradually towards Geiterygghytta.

Geiterygghytta is owned by the Norwegian Tourist Association. It is a unique and well-known meeting point for hikers, with history seeping from the walls. The views and scenery are truly magnificent!

Dinner together in the evening.

Today’s distance – about 18km.

Day 4 – Geiterygghytta – Osterbo Fjelltove

After a good breakfast we load our baggage into the support vehicle and don our rucksacks. Today we will hike steadily down towards the sea. The landscape is varied and we walk on well-trodden paths throughout the day. We progress from the mountains down towards the tree line. We arrive at Osterbo during the afternoon … An idyllic resort halfway between the mountains and the sea.

During the evening we will enjoy our meal together. Here you will truly have the opportunity to experience the silence and tranquillity inspired by this amazing location.

Today’s distance – about 20 km

Day 5 – Osterbo Fjellstove – Vassbygdi – Flam

Today we continue en route towards the sea. The hike through the Aurlandsdalen Valley is one of the most famous and spectacular routes in Norway. This really is a unique landscape. A more demanding hike on changeable surfaces but we are always en route down.

The landscape gradually changes as we travel. Towards the end of the day the ocean appears and we arrive at the little trading village of Vassbygdi. We congregate here and take a short bus ride to Flam.

Here comes one of the tour’s true highlights: Flåmsbana, one of the most beautiful train journeys in the world! This is a steep and spectacular railroad trip that will take us back up to the mountaintop again at Myrdal. The railroad has long-established, historical roots. Find out more here.

From Myrdal, we take a well-earned and relaxing train ride back to Oslo. In Oslo, we change trains to travel directly to Gardermoen Airport. We spend our final night here before our adventure comes to an end … for now.

Day 6 – 3rd August – Day of departure
